Hill Street Builders Helping Others
One of the great things about building stuff for a living is that you have the ability to help others with your talents if you choose, and our company is committed to helping those in need.We feel very grateful for our health, our lives, our faith, and the chance to work for a living. We believe in God and in Community and we do our best to serve both. Hill Street Builders, Inc. is an active partner with:
Katrina Relief ; Waveland, Mississippi
March 2008 marks our second trip to Waveland. Although it's almost 3 years since the flood, Waveland is still digging out. Their town was totally decimated; not much was left. The town is just a few feet above sea level and most of the houses were met with 25 to 30 feet of water when the storm surged. A lot of good people died and a lot of good people lost everything. Our goal is to help them rebuild what was lost. We'll be back there in 3 months to get back to work.
Habitat; Greene County, GA
In 2007, I worked 3 days a week on site with the boys from primarily the Lake Oconee communities to build 2 new homes for 2 great ladies. The regular guys on the crew, Mike Meredith, Dick Kranzmann, Al Christafaro, Dave Thillen, and Terry Burdette really know how to work. And I'll bet the youngest of them is 60. It was a great experience helping someone else alongside these guys.
Hands On Athens; Athens, GA
April 4th of this year will be our first time out with Hands On Athens. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands dirty right here in Athens, GA. It's great to meet needs in other places, but there's definitely no excuse to overlook your own neighbor. And there's lots of folks right here in town who could sure use a little help.
